How long should we stay off the lawn after treatment?
For most lawn applications, it’s best to stay off the lawn until it has completely dried. Typically about 1–3 hours, depending on weather conditions. Children and pets should also avoid the area until dry.

Pets can return to the lawn once the treatment has completely dried. If possible, wipe pets’ paws after their first time back outside.

It depends on the type of application:

  • Fertilizer treatments may benefit from light watering within 24 hours.
  • Weed control applications often need time to absorb before watering.
  • Your technician will leave specific instructions based on the treatment performed.

Avoid mowing for at least 24 hours after treatment. For weed control applications, waiting 2–3 days helps maximize effectiveness.

Results vary by service:

  • Fertilizer greening may appear within 7–14 days.
  • Weed control can take 7–21 days, depending on the weed type and weather.
  • Mosquito control results may be noticeable within a few days.

Weeds may take time to curl, discolor, and die off. Some stubborn weeds require multiple treatments throughout the season for full control.

Most professional lawn treatments are designed to withstand light rain once dry. Heavy rain immediately after application may reduce effectiveness in some cases.

Some weed control applications can interfere with seed germination. Check with your lawn care provider before seeding or aerating.

Temporary yellowing or browning can occasionally occur due to weather stress, drought, or treatment timing. This is usually temporary.

  • Water deeply and infrequently
  • Mow at the proper height
  • Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade
